iOS 4.2 new features

I finally got around to updating the marquee at the top of my blog. So if you are interested in the new features iOS 4.2 has to offer, check up there. The text in the marquee was pulled straight from the window that appears when you plug in your iPhone or iPod Touch to update it's firmware.

If you know any features that weren't listed up there, then please post them in a comment below. Here are a few that i noticed and already listed:

Master volume in multitasking bar

Yup, so now you can adjust the master volume (aka the volume used for music, videos, and most games) straight from the multitask bar.

New Voice memos icon:

Nothing too earth shattering here, but it's welcome none the less. I can't tell whether or not I like or hate it. A bit of both really, so therefore I don't mind it.

"+" button in Safari changed to the more traditional iOS arrow icon

Yup, again, nothing too earth shattering here. Again, it is welcome none the less. Again, can't tell whether I like it or hate it. Again, maybe a bit of both. Again, therefore I don't mind it, although I really did like the way the + button looked. So I think I'm not too big a fan of this change.

Gradient effect in scrolling alerts and messages

Well, same as the last two. Nothing earth shattering, welcome anyway, and I actually really like the way this looks compared to earlier version of iOS. Not that it looked bad, but this does look WAY better.

Ability to thumbs up or thumbs down youtube videos directly from the app

Finally Youtube and Apple are in sync. When you go to comment on a youtube video, the stars have been replaced with a thumbs up and a thumbs down. Also when searching for videos each thumbnail shows the percentage of thumbs ups, or thumbs downs, depending on which one is dominant. Very handy!

New dedicated birthday calendar:

There is a new calendar built into iOS 4.2, and that is the birthdays calendar. It shows the birthdays of your contacts from within the calendar app. You can tell it apart from the other calendars due to its off-white color and it is represented by a present icon.

Those are just a few new features in iOS 4.2. If you know of any others, post them in a comment below, and I'll include them in the above marquee if I find them worth sharing.

SO, what do you think this means? What is Apple doing tomorrow? Could they just be releasing iOS 4.2? Could they be doing a major iTunes update? Could they be releasing a new iPod model tomorrow? Could they be releasing new hardware? Are they doing something they've never done before in the past? What are they doing?

Nobody was expecting this, and Apple is very predictable. What do you think is happening tomorrow? Post below in the comments. I'll post again on whatever it is they are doing tomorrow. It's very odd for Apple to spontaneously hold an event that no one was expecting.

Well, do you? I'd love to keep that scrolling bar up there^ as full as possible. I already populated it with some features that I already knew, but if you know one or more that weren't listed, send me an email at PizzaScience1@yahoo.com. If you can also send me screenshots (if necessary. Like if the feature is the spell check, I need graphical proof. However if it is that the battery meter is more accurate, then screenshots would be meaningless.), then that would be awesome!

Also make sure you know what it is supported on. For instance FaceTime is an iPhone 4 thing. But the new calculator icon goes for all devices. So make sure you know the compatibility.

What's new in iOS 4?

Well, while I don't know all tue new features, I have found a couple that no one has yet mentioned (to my knowledge). So I will list those:

1. The location service for maps and other apps that use it has been improved DRASTICALLY! I have yet to find an area where it doesn't work.

2. The satellite view in maps has improved. I can see my church now!

3. My favorite mini-feature; LANDSCAPE CALENDAR ENTRY MODE!!!!!! I could have killed Steve had this feature not yet been added! I am so happy! We still have no week view, however.

Oh, look at this: here is spell check in action right now (let's see if this will work):

hooray! (they ate sideways. I apologize) Although I just noticed the double space thing for switching back to the keyboard doesn't work :(

iOS 4 comes out today! What to expect

So today the long awaited iOS 4 comes out! It isn't out yet, but I predict around 12:00 pm-ish (eastern). If not then no later than 5:00 pm eastern. Now one of the main reasons I'm posting this is in regard to us iPhone 3g / iPod Touch 2g (this includes you people with the 8gb iPod Touches from last year) users. As Steve said, there will be limitations.* So he only listed multitasking as an example, which led me to think that everything else would work. Well since last night I heard these speculations:

1. No multi-tasking (who cares?)

2. No bluetooth keyboards (again, who care-wait... WHAT?)

3. no homescreen backgrounds (whatever. ... wait, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!)

Yeah. However, I only think that 1 and 2 are viable. Because if you click here to go to the iOS 4 page, and scroll to the bottom, you'll see this:

Look at the picture resembling the iPhone 3g. You'll see it has a homescreen background. So if the iPhone 3G will get it, of course the iPod Touch 2G will get it because the iPod Touch 2G is a tad more powerful than the iPhone 3G. So we'll see!

Anyway I'll update you via twitter when it comes out (follow me at http://twitter.com/pizzscn) and I'll update the scrolling marquee at the top of my blog. (Anything else the iPod Touch 2G and the iPhone 3G can't support will be followed by an asterisk "*")

Howdee every1! This is just a status update posting thing. Sorry this blog hasn't been too active lately.

1. I made a 1x1x1. These things are just plain AWESOME! I made one out of legos, and it turned out so good that the next day at school I got PAID to make one for a friend (who is an awesome cuber), and, well, unfourtunately, I fell in loive with that one D:. But I gave it to him today and he loves it. :) Here's a video of me showing them off:

2. I made some youtube business cards. I'll do an unboxing after they are shipped so not showing anything here :D Problem is, they take FOREVER to print... I bet you they'll be "dispatched" either tomorrow (Wednesday) or no later than Friday.

iPhone 4.0 to be announced this Thursday

As you guys know, I feel dedicated, in a way, to making alerts on new iPhone software. So that's why I'm writing about this now.

This Thursday, apple is announcing the new 4.0 software update. While I'm not sure what this will hold, I do have some predictions:

1. Background support (chances are 6.5 out of 10)
•Enabling backgrounds on the homescreens of the iPhone.

2. Multitasking (chances are 3 out of 10)
•the reason why I predict the probability of this feature so low is because I don't think the iPhone is ready for this yet. I feel that if this is coming, it will BLOW YOUR MIND at how it's handled. I personally think apple was thinking about the "deck of cards" approach, but palm beat them to it with webOS. But we'll see...

3. Landscape calendar with week view (probability 7 out of 10)
•this should have been here since 3.0. Apple, what were you thinking?

4. Other little things
•things like a notification button on the lock screen, HTML email composer, formatted notes, more weather options, conference calling (this is coming from the perspective of an iPod touch user, keep that in mind), and Tweens and bug fixes.

So I will try to do a video about it whenever I can.

Post genius bar experience

So my experience in the Apple store today was a success! I went in with an old cracked iPod and left with a nice shiny refurb (I think it's a refurb). So I walk in and I saw my name on a tv screen. I thought that was pretty cool. So I was admiring the mac pro when they called me up. The butterflies were for some reason flying around my belly, so I fought myself hard to go up. I go up and explain the full incident, I tell them it was my fault and that I was trying to get a piece of dirt that somehow managed to get under my screen out of my screen. She seemed rather shocked at the poor iPods appearance, and said something that made me believe that the damage was unreal. The digitizer seems to be made up of two layers of glass, and I say this because both were cracked. One crack was under another. And even though my warrenty was clearly at the verge of being in shambles, she pulls out a drawer full of refurbs and gives me a brand new "refurbished"
iPod.

That is what I call quality service. This iPod though is a bit weird. I'm not very accurate on it, and the screen is a bit uneven in terms of backlight, but that's ok. My biggest issue is that I can see through the two bottom clips that hold the digitizer in place from the bottom. That's very strange. I may one day show you what I mean in a photograph. Anyhow I gove apple a thumbs up, a kudos, and an A+ for the amazing service and for the cute female geniuses behind the genius bar :D

iPod Touch genius repair pre-experience and sorry

Hey guys sorry that I haven't posted recently. I haven't really had anything to talk about, but this is just a quick little post about my pre-experience with the Apple Genius bar.

Anyhow I have a pretty big problem with my iPod. I'll try and post up a pic soon but I basically cracked the digitizer SO MUCH that the whole bottom portion of the screen is totally unresponsive. It sucks. So I set up a genius bar appoitment for tommorow at 1:30. I had a phone all ready to go, but never used it. I have to say the process was SO EASY that I never even had to push a button on another device. It was super duper simple. The whole process took about 1-2 minutes. Seriously all I did was enter my serial #, my state, and then click the most convienent store location, set the time, and then entered my name and email so that they could send me an email about it. VERY EASY!

Now tomorrow I will give my post-genius bar experience. It will not go super smooth as I don't have warrenty

Updates to the blog as well as new iPhone software

If you look up there^, right under the cube search, you will find a marquee. This marquee will basically contain updates as well as some sort of current event. Occasionally I will piut so
Ething in this marquee that doesn't pertain to me, but rather to a current event. Right now the marquee features the new iPhone 3.1.3 firmware update. These current events will generally be seen in bold italics. Most likely the HTML didn't convert because this is from my iPods email composer. All my updates will show in normal text and if I have an upcoming video or an alert of some sort, it will be bold and will be above the marquee in a stationary position.

Also there's a new iPhone firmware out for both iPhone and iPod touch users. It simply is a few bug updates and stuff like that. I am currently saving a video to my computer that's about this update, so be expecting that soon. I also talk a little about it in my previous video.

How to type the Apple logo "" on the iPhone, or any phone, for that matter...

It's indeed possible to type an apple logo with the iPhone. It's super simple. I'll try to show you by typing it out in my iPods email composer (which is how I post most of my posts, throu email) but if it fails I will reinforce it to insure it works. Let's try it!

So it's really similar to a heart (&heart;) or a spade (&spade;). Only complication is that instead of putting a word in between a & and a ;, you use a number. But you should have it memorized fairly quickly as it's very short. So, to get the apple logo, type this:  . If that converted to the real thing, then here's an attempt at it again. IF IT DID NOT CONVERT THE FIRST TIME, THEN IGNORE THIS NEXT ONE and skip to the next paragraph. Here's the insured one: (to get it to work, remove the spaces in the code.). & #63743 ;.

There you have it! How to type an apple logo on the iPhone. It may even work in windows even!!!

Two cool iPhone/iPod touch keyboard tricks

OK so I just learned both of these just a few minutes ago. Let's start with the slightly more obvious and mist useful one.

So let's say you want to use s contraction for "we will". Normally, if you wanted to type a contraction, you'd type in "cant" and the auto correction would automatically add an apostrophe. However, the contraction "we'll" looks like "well" without an apostrophe. So you can remody this by typing in "welll" and it will give you this:

So that's the first trick. Here's the second one that I actually don't know what it does.

So If you want caps lock enabled, you double tap the SHIFT key, and it turns blue like this:

That indicates that CAPS LOCK is in use. But if you tap the ".?123" button, then double tap the "#+=" button, you get this:

So that's very strange and I don't yet know what it does. That's all for now!!! :)

Wetern Digital MyBook external hard drive giving me issues

OK so recently I bought and unboxed a brand new hard drive. The unboxing video is located below:

So basically here's the thing: I recently installed it's software, and backed up my computer's hard drive. The problem is is that now my computer is accessing BOTH hard drives for the same data. Let's say I open MSPaint. The computer will start looking on the onboard hard drive AND the external one at the same time. This somehow results in PATHETIC performance and it has made my computer REALLY laggy. There are two reasons I can think of as to why this happens:

Reason	explanation
One hard drive is faster than the other	So the hard drive in my computer is I think a 75,000 rpm hard drive, while the external one is only a 50,000 rpm one. This makes the external one slower than the onboard one. So it would make sense that if the computer needs to access both drives, it would take longer since the new drive is a bit slower.
Uses more RAM	Since it needs to use both drives apparently, it uses a LOT more RAM than usual. So that could be another problem. I even looked at the RAM thingy in the taskbar once when performing a simple task and it said 100. So RAM may also be an issue

Tables are so much fun to make :D lol

Anyway, I'm not sure which one if any is true. It may even be both reasons. Anyway, just making you aware that backing up is a good thing to do, but it may have some unwanted side affects. So BE CAREFUL!!!

Also this has to be reducing the life of the MyBook as I really only wanted to put videos on it. But now it's always running. It used to go into sleep mode after periods of no activity but not anymore since my computer keeps treating it like the C drive!! GRRRRRRR!!!

A neat trick you can do with youtube embedded videos

Countdown to Christmas app review #1: Days until

OK so basically here is the icon: I kind of forgot to crop it but it's the last icon in the third row:

So what is Days until? Well, Days Until is a FREE countdown app that will basically countdown to any given date. So in the video I showed you Christmas and the 4th of July. Here's what the actual countdown display thing looks like:

So you can actually move things about (as per the video) and make certain components bigger or smaller. In the example above I have the date on top, and the actual number of days left on the bottom. So how do you create these? Well, before getting TOO far ahead of ourselves, look at the image below for the main interface:

So what do we have here? Well, in the upper left cormer we have the famed + button, which is where the magic happens, we have am M button, which stands for "medium", the small view is simply a no thumbnail list, and large is a large version of medium. Then we have the settings button, which the settings menu looks something like this:

So yeah. This is only a preview. I scroll down a little in the video. And finally we have in the upper right hand corner the edit button, which allows us to delete the events we don't want or need anymore. Below the toolbar is the list of events in cronilogical order.

So what is it like to add new events? Well, here's the interface you get when you click the + button:

So basically, you get to change the name of the event, choose an appropriate image to the event, choose between detailed and summery text, and that little triangle in the lower left hand corner lets you choose the font, the date, and the font color of the text. You then save it, and you're all set!

My new CaseMate case is "Barely There"

I FINALLY got a new case!!! If you wanna see it, then I will atempt to put up a photo of it's sexiness up here. If that fails, then ill put it up on Twitter. My new case is the CaseMate barely there case, and it's name suits it perfectly. It really is like there is nothing there. Now some unfourtunate things about this case that are my fault: 1. My chrome bezel is actually deformed, but very minutely. So the case doesn't lay properly very well.

2. It came with a screenshield, but it was very hard to put it on because Im shedding. Seriously. So there was hair all over the adhesive, and I didn't want to keep it on there. What a waste of a screen protector, and CaseMate needs to include at least two screen shields. Also it didn't lay at all on one corner because the chrome is deformed, and caught the screenshield causing it to not lay at all.

Also quick cubing update: my friend wants to buy me a DIY cube. And I brought my fisher cube to school today, and an extention broke off :(. I ran out of superglue almost, too.

A few iPod touch tips and tricks

Ok so here are a few little tips and tricks that you should already know how to do but probably never really thought about doing them. The intent of these little tricks is to essentially enhance the experience. Also note these should also work on iPhone.

1. Ever wished you could have five icons in your dock? Well as long as one of those icons that you want is music, then YES YOU CAN!!! First make sure you are running the 3.0 software update or later, then open your settings, go to general, go to home, and check off "iPod". Now when you double click your home button, you will be brought to your music. So not necessarily a five icon dock, if you want that you will need to jailbreak, but it is close enough.

2. Idk who really uses Safari mobile's bookmarking functionality, but if you do, and you use it quite often, then you may want to organize things up a bit. What I did is I made a folder called "favorites". Then I went in there and made some category folders (eg: a folder for tech, a folder for blogs, ect). Now if you don't know how to make folders, it's simple: simply open the bookmarks, click the edit button, then tap new folder, and make the folder.

3. Do you like the app store? I love the app store! But ever wondered if or when new apps will be added? Well, the answer to that is every Tuesday morning. So when you wake up every tuesday, check the app store. It should be fresh and new:). This also pertains to the iTunes music store.

4. Last tip of the day: if you wish you could have an organized contact book, then you came to the right place :). You will need to have Microsoft outlook installed on your computer. So simply plug your iPod in, go to outlook, and click contacts. Then go to new and click folder. Name the folder whatever you want, then put it under contacts. Then open iTunes and If you haven't yet, plug in your iPod. Then go to your iPod in iTunes, and click the "info" tab. Then find contacts, and set it to sync with outlook. Then click "apply", let it sync, and you have created a category for your contact book. This is also how you add sub calendars to your calendars app.

Some REALLY old videos

So at one point in my life I was the proud owner of a Sony digital mavica. I found some floppy disks containing some photos and videos, ans thought I would share some of them with you. This is a Pizzscn blog EXCLUSIVE! These aren't going to Youtube!

OK here we go :)

I frankly don't know when or where this was, but this is the only video I could find with me talking. I sound incredibly different. Also this was in like 2006, the year before I went to Youtube :)

While that is processing I will take the time to type that this camera used floppy disks, which have very limited space. The camera also limited the length of the videos it could record, but only sometimes, which is very strange. This is an old video I took with it and it made it to youtube. This was a fireworks fountain thing from Wal-MArt that I filmed, and was impressed by the fact that the camera seemed to actually be recording crisp video and also long video. It was very strange, but here it is:

So my baby FINALLY cut off! Actually, something horrid happened so it kind of cut off a bit early, and that horrible thing does not concern you, so don't ask what it was about. Also I found a pretty neat little app that seems to allow me to upload voice recordings to blogger. With it being 1:01 am right now, I really can't test it yet, but I will try it out tomorrow if I have time. Let's see, anything else? Well, yeah actually I may consider jailbreaking this week. I will most likely use BlackRain (although my friend told me to use pwnage tool because apparently it does "everything") because all you have to do is plug the iPod in and click a button. So there are several obstacles preventing me from making videos this weekend. First of all I obviously do not have a camera, second of all my school participates in a program called Baby think it over, and I have a fake baby to take care of. Also because of this fake baby, I will be INCREDIBLY tired. So no "fresh" videos this weekend, but If the truly wonderful ladies who programmed my baby left plenty of gaps of time, then ai may be able to compress and possibly upload part of the fisher cube tutorial, which is WAY overdue. Also I am still hoping for a camera this christmas.

It's that time again :) UPDATEZ!!!!!!!!

1. I am having a huge debate with myself as to if I want to jailbreak or not. I really want the customality (if that's even a word) that it offers. But if something happens to my iPod, I'm done. So I really am not sure about it.

2. Well, since I um, broke my camera, I seriously am at a loss of what kind of camera to ask for. So any suggestions would be nice and if you are the owner of Wal-Mart or some other major retail store, PLEASE ALLOW PEOPLE TO DEMO ALL THE CAMERAS. I swear it makes things SO hard if you can't demo the cameras. I don't want to judge by the appearance, I want to judge it by the fuctionality, the features, the video quality, the picture quality, and just everything. But that's hard to do without being able to demo the camera. And to all the readers: AFTER DEMOING THE DEMOABLE CAMERAS, TURN THEM OFF. I find a nice looking camera with the lens open, but the battery is dead becsue the last person to use it DID NOT TURN IT OFF. Just please do it, because I was looking at cameras yesterday and couldn't make a choice because there was either no battery (Wal-mart's fault) or the battery was dead (shopper's fault). That's my message in this post. It will make me and a LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE very happy :D

Jailbreaking

Well guys, I'm thinking about possibly jailbreaking my iPod Touch 2G now. I am watching a few of john4lakers' videos and he is mentioning some of the features and customization you get with a jailbroken iPod Touch. So maybe not now, but certainly in the future I may actually jailbreak. If you want to know what jailbreaking is, essentially it makes your iPhone open-source (I'm going to use iPhone, which will refrence both the iPhone and iPod Touch). Now if you are a cubing fan of mine, and happen to own an iPhone, and you really don't know a lot of techical terms such as open source, basically it lets you do everything but the kitchen sink with your device. A lot of the iPhone's competitors such as the Palm Pre and the Anddroid devices are open source. So if you are tired of this boring look:

yeah, I personally like it, but I do wish there were a bit more customization, such as themes or maybe even a background. So when you jailbreak, you can get your homescreen looking something like this:

Yeah, isn't that sexy? You may not notice right away, but this particular theme has an added bonus: and that is five rows of five apps. Look at my homescreen, and you'll see there are only four rows of four on each page, as well as only four icons in the dock. And the jailbroken one also has a five icon dock, so you can hold many of your favorites in the dock.

Now I know that jailbreaking looks quite tasty, but bewarned, because some good things come at a price, and jailbreaking certainly does. When you jailbreak, you will essentially have the ultimate iPhone, and it will be incredibly unique, and people will BEG you to show them how to do it. You may even make a profit off of it. I read a comment to a youtube video about jailbroken iphones and he said that a kid offered him $500 for his iPod Touch 2nd generation only because it was jailbroken. That's a profit worth more than the actual device! BUT THERE ARE CONSIQUENSIS. when you jailbreak, your warrenty becomes voided, and that means if you damage your phone sevearly, you can't get it replaced. Some people have told me "oh just un-jailbreak it", but what if the device becomes unusable? You are screwed. Apple has ways of telling whether or not you jailbroke, and they will not replace a jailbroken device.

So that's jailbreaking :D I may do it eventually, as it appears to be a good thing, despite the voided warrenty. If I do decide to jailbreak, I will post up my homescreen before and after jailbreaking so you can see what all I did to make my iPod Touch better and more enjoyable. Thanks for reading :)

Ok guys so this time I really AM in a crisis. So I was trying to use the macro feature on my camera, and I noticed that it started sounding a bit worn out. My focus on the camera is quite loud. If you've ever owned a nikon coolpix l16 or l18, then you know what Im talking about. Anyway, I started noticing some strange things happening to the focus, it would focus in enough, but then say it couldn't focus, and it wouldn't work. This is normal, it is to prevent the lens from getting stuck and having the cover close up around the lens, which happened to me once. But anyway, I saw that but then it would not focus at all. Then I tried turning it off and turning it back on, but that caused the lens to jam. I then looked at the lens only to find it was WAY TOO DEEP in the lens housing. I can now stick my finger up under the housing and hold the camera by the underside of it's lens. So my camera broke, in short. What this means is no tbanksgiving
vids, hopefully I will have it working ny christmas or there won't be Christmas footage, I wanted to do a kind of "getting started" video guide for new iPhone and iPod touch users, but not anymore. I recently undergone a crisis. It's pretty bad. Ready for it? I hope none of you are prone to feeling pissed for someone else's troubles. Ready? Right, here is what happened: my superglue solidified. So this means an even greater delay in the fisher cube tutorial >:(. I feel bad guys, I have put this off for at least two or three weeks if not longer. I SWEAR I will find time to edit more of it this thanksgiving. If not, sue me or whatever. Just know I can't pay anything higher than fifteen dollars. I apoligize for the lack of videos, WMD for putting off the fisher cube videos. I've got some more video ideas in mind, such as an iPod touch beginners guide, kinda like a video version of a quick start guide. I also have the tutorial of the fisher cube, as well as the pmfc video. That's all!

Ok so I made a twitter account probably a week or so after purchasing my iPod touch. But I never really used it much. I did pick up some followers (I think it's kind of automatic type thing because it happens pretty quickly after making it). Anyway just last week I downloaded a Twitter client app known as Twitterific (I know, lame) onto my iPod. Then just yesterday I set up my phone to be able to post to Twitter on the go. So Im officially using Twitter but HOLD ON, Im not done with this blog. As you can clearly see, this is MUCH tooling to be a tweet, as Twitter has a silly character limit of 150. This has probably exceeded the 500 mark by now. Anyway, as I was saying, stay subscribed to the RSS and atom feeds to my blog as I will still use my blog quite often. I will only use twiller mainly from my phone to post up on the go tweets. It just works better. One quite annoying yet minor inconvienence is that I can't send pictures from my phone to
Twitter. The pictures are hosted elsewhere. I tried to post a picture of my fisher cube but it didn't work. So I may send on the go MMS messages with pictures here, to my blog. So Twitter will be used to post on-the-go statuses, and this blog will be used well, as a blog, of course. So follow me on Twitter Im Pizzscn on there as well as on YouTube. 1. I was unable to really continue my pimp my fisher cube series as I tried working on it, and it just took a long time. If I have any freetime tomorrow I will continue working on it then.

2. I downloaded Twitterific again. I'm considering using twitter. My username is Pizzscn so follow me but Im still thinking about whether or not I would use it diligently. Don't worry though, I will still update my blog obviously. I just would use the Twitter with my phone and such for hopefully quick little on the fly SMS updates.

So here it is! My finished Fisher Cube. Well, it's finished, but not
very pretty. So, I still need to work on it a bit. I will not have
school this Wednsday due to the fact that it is Veterans Day. So I
will work on my fisher cube then. But I won't do it in my own time,

I just finished editing the whole series of videos, which means I can move on to the fisher cub tutorial now finally, and right now part one is saving to the computer. I'm doing what I normally do and am shaving off 8 megabytes. I know that's alot, but it's either compressed video, or no video, as my Internet nor my HARD DRIVE can handle an incompressed video. I will save as many videos as possible, then I will upload them overnight. I will then compose a playlist and embed it into a blog post so yo can easily watch it.

So everything in the circles have already been edited. Now you may notice something peculiar about the app store. It's halfway in, and halfway out. That's because Im only halfway done editing it. Another quick status update

It's time for yet another quick status update thing.

1. The fisher cube tutorial is going to be delayed a bit. I already finished filming it and it's on my computer. Problem is I can't find the time to edit it or to finish working on my fisher cube (I'm finishing it in my own time, then I will do a "pimp my Fisher cube" video). So today's November 1st. I'll have it up hopefully by the end of the month. If not, then before the end of 2009. Also I do recommend that you get epoxy, as some cubes have "weak spots", or "capped corners" that break off easily. So if you cube's corners are capped, get a tube of epoxy. If you plan to fill the whole cube, you WILL NEED 2 tubes, otherwise there won't be enough.

2. I just filmed an iPod touch review. I will edit it tommorow or later tonight and upload parts of it either later tomorrow or Tuesday. I shouldn't have an homework tommorow due to a weird schedule we're doing tomorrow, so I should be able to ge that done tommorow.

About my Fisher cube mod tutorial

OK so here's my plan for my fisher cube tutorial:

So yesterday I bought all the necessary supplies (that I needed. I have a list of the supplies in the description of yesterdays video). So that's one step complete.

So unfortunately I was unable to make the tutorial yesterday because I got the supplies around 8:00 last night, and today I went out of town to celebrate my aunt's birthday. So I was unable to do it today as well.

So I plan on making the tutorial next Saturday (if all goes well). If not then Sunday. If I can't then then I will just figure find time to make it. But be semi-expecting it next weekend.

If you want to know the necessary supplies so you can buy the one's you need, then here's a list of necessary, optional and recomended:

Necessary:
•3x3x3 of any type or brand
•Sandpaper
•Some method of cutting the pieces
•Superglue

Optional:
•Dremel for cutting and sanding the pieces
•Whiteout to make a temporary white surface on a black cube
•if using Dremel, then eye protection is required
•epoxy paste for filling
•black spraypaint or nail polish*
•sticker sheets

Recommended:
•Dremel for cutting and sanding pieces
•medium grit sandpaper
•fine grit sandpaper
•super glue over the other glues
•black paint or nail polish•

iPod Touch/iPhone 3.1.2 software update now available

So there is a new software update, nothing major, just a few bug fixes. These include:

1. iPod refusing to wake up. That now resolved (never experienced that problem yet)
2. resolves video streaming bug that causes iPod Touch/iPhone to crash.

That's pretty much it. Would I recommend it? Well, I'm currently downloading it, and will soon have a video about it.

OK so two problems I am currently having wih my iPod Touch 2g 8gb with 3.1.1 software update:

1. Hotmail. I can't get hotmail working!!! I put a webclip for hptmail in my dock for easy access:

I hope that made it. Hotmail is the one on the far right. I click it, and then Safari shows up. And it stays in a position like this:

But here's the thing, it works fine on my computer. Very strange...

It's time for another ststus update!

1. I am working on making a Fisher cube. Basically a Fisher Cube is a 3x3x3 octagonal barrel, but the scrap plastic is used to extend the centers and edges. I'll do a video about it later, but for now, if you are wondering what I am talking about, simply google "fisher cube".and at the top there are some youtube videos. Those will most likely give you a better understanding of what the cube behaves like. I won't be stickering mine, but I will fill it. The reason I'm not stickering it is because I find that getting it from uncontrolled mayhem to a cube is a good challenge in and of itself.

2. I still am not a youtube partner!!! YOUTUBE!!!!!!! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?!?!?!?!
